I can change; I have the will to change; I will change.

Habits in the BrainI am today the result of my habits. My destiny starts with my thoughts and is crafted by habits. My tendencies, moods and desires are born out of my habits. So are hopelessness, despair, failure, anger, fear and worry. And so is excellence.

I watch my thoughts carefully for they are the seeds of habits. And I know that each thought-habit is a mental magnet: Prosperity thought-habits attract wealth; poverty thought-habits draw scarcity.

I perform all actions using right judgment and choice of will and not by the force of habits. I replace wrong habits with right ones and water them with good thoughts and actions.  With tremendous commitment, I keep at it until the positive habit is deeply rooted in my mind.

I take time to consciously sow right habits and weed out wrong habits. And in time, I reap a rewarding destiny!

Your brain carves patterns and searches for them endlessly – Thomas B. Czerner

The brain is constantly trying to automate processes, thereby dispelling them from consciousness; in this way, its work will be completed faster, more effectively and at a lower metabolic level. Consciousness, on the other hand, is slow, subject to error and expensive – Gerhard Roth

Habits can be learned and unlearned. But I also know it isn’t a quick fix. It involves a process and a tremendous commitment. Habits have tremendous gravity-pull and breaking deeply imbedded habitual tendencies involves more than a little willpower and few minor changes in our lives. – Stephen R.Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.

Half of the things you do you might as well
Turn over to me and I will do them – quickly and correctly.

I am easily managed – you must be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done
and after a few lessons, I will do it automatically.

I am the servant of great people,
And the regret of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.

I am not a machine but I work with all its precision
Plus the intelligence of a person.

You may run me for profit or you may run me for ruin –
It makes no difference to me.

Take me, train me, be firm with me, and
I will place the world at your feet.
Be easy with me and I will destroy you.

Who am I? I am Habit.

Today is the best day of my life.

The_Perfect_DayThe perfect day is today, not tomorrow or yesterday.

As I open my eyes to today, I quietly close them again and surcharge myself by breathing deeply a few times, relishing each breath fully. My first thoughts I choose carefully for they set the tone and tenor of the day. I begin with affirmations of gratitude and joy for the key to the perfect day is within me.

I thank the ‘power’ for granting me another sunrise, while millions will watch it no more; for the throbbing heart, while a million others will beat no more. My first thoughts will affirm and rejoice in celebration of being alive. And I get out of bed feeling within me positive emotions of peace, or love or joy or confidence or security.

I gift hugs to my family and each hug bonds us stronger. By giving love, I receive happiness that will surround me during the day, enfold me while I work, protect me as I take risks and watch over me on my return home.

Carrying the portable paradise within, I walk into the day. I move forward calmly active and actively calm, knowing that I am in the right place at the right time doing the right thing and am guided from within.

As I drive to work, every other vehicle is an opportunity to perfect my day, to practice peace and love. I bless each one of them. At traffic lights, as I wait, I affirm loving thoughts reminding myself of the wisdom, power and beauty that lie within me.

I meet everybody and every circumstance with the courage of a hero and the smile of a conqueror. I fill a few seconds at different times of the day with the magic potion of positive self-talk.

I work briskly, quickly, speedily, swiftly, promptly but never hurriedly or hastily. I bless everyone who comes into my day with a simple ‘I bless you’ for who can resist love and goodwill.

As I retire at the end of the day, I recall what I did or did not do or should have done. I introspect objectively, for self-analysis is the key to self-improvement. The positives I reinforce, the negatives I correct.

And how shall I know I lived a perfect day? I shall measure it on the motto: Be Better. If I am better at the end of the day – a little or a lot- I know I have lived a perfect day.

Thus shall I perfect my day and others will soon say, “What a wonderful change has come over him!”

This day I will make the best day of my life. This day I will drink every minute to its full. I will savor its taste and give thanks. I will maketh every hour count and each minute I will trade only for something of value. I will labor harder than ever before and push my muscles until they cry for relief, and then I will continue. I will make more calls than ever before. I will sell more goods than ever before. I will earn more gold than ever before. Each minute of today will be more fruitful than hours of yesterday. I will live this day as if it is my last. And if it is not, I shall fall to my knees and give thanks.- Og Mandino, Scroll VI, The Greatest Salesman in the World

I do what I should do, when I should do it, whether I feel like it or not.

self_made_manNothing worthwhile has ever been achieved without discipline. Yet it is the most disliked word. While many approve of it, few follow it. I will not be among the undisciplined crowd at the base of the mountain. I will be at the top with the few who dared to discipline themselves.

I know I am similar to a stone. Yet I will not remain a stone. I will shape myself into a masterpiece of inspiration for generations to come.

I am both the sculptor and the tools of sculpting. My chisel is attitude and my mallet is discipline. I use the tools carefully for even the slightest miscalculation can damage my hand or the stone.

Bit by bit, I rough out unwanted traits in me. And I learn to work with loving discipline for if I try to force myself into something I don’t want to be, I will break. I realize that I become what I want to, by seeing it first and then by carving myself into it with measured blows of discipline.

Self-discipline is the key to personal greatness. It is the magic quality that opens all doors for you, and makes everything else possible. With self-discipline, the average person can rise as far and as fast as his talents and intelligence can take him. But without self-discipline, a person with every blessing of background, education and opportunity will seldom rise above mediocrity – Brian Tracy

Each piece I make is a statement, I feel I am leaving little pieces of me and how I feel embedded in the sculpture. You have to learn to work with the stone, if you try to force it into something it doesn’t want to be, it will break. I know my priorities and I meet them.

I am harmony. I am composed of different elements and every musical not e of my life has its appropriate importance. None of them can have equal significance, for if they did, there would be noise and no melody in my life at all.

I am harmony. Every aspect of my life takes a proportionate share of my time and energy. I do not fret and fume about balancing my resources in order to see that each department gets an identical amount. I realize that harmony is all about knowing priorities and meeting them. Only then do I create a timeless  symphony.

I am harmony. Every person I meet sings a different song and I appreciate it. Since I know it, I accompany his or her tune and add a note to it. Thus I will contribute to the album of brotherhood.

Harmony, proportion, symmetry, balance: these nouns mean aesthetic arrangement marked by proper distribution of elements. Harmony is the pleasing interaction or appropriate combination of elements: the harmony of your facial features. Proportion is the agreeable relation of parts within a whole: a house with rooms of gracious proportion. Symmetry and balance both imply an arrangement of parts on either side of a dividing line, but symmetry frequently emphasizes mirror-image correspondence of parts, while balance often suggests dissimilar parts that offset each other harmoniously: flowers planted in perfect symmetry around the pool.“In all perfectly beautiful objects, there is found the opposition of one part to another, and a reciprocal balance” (John Ruskin).  – Answers.com

(Speaking on Harmony) We all know someone who has all their financial ducks in a row—a real go-getter with a flourishing business and an impressive portfolio—whose personal life is in shambles. Think of a scale. In perfect balance, nothing’s happening. There’s no dynamism, no life or vibrancy. Now, think of a jazz band in action—the life and vibrancy are palpable, aren’t they? The performers in this band have less to do with playing the melody as written and more to do with improvising. They give life to nuance and the music takes shape in the moment. That’s harmony. The different parts aren’t balanced—sometimes the saxophone leads. Sometimes it’s the bass, or the drum or lead guitar. Whatever instrument is out in front at the moment, they’re all contributing, all creating that amazing thing called music. Each musician plays his part of a magical, magnificent whole. James Ray

I exercise my power of choice. I choose freedom.

I am free neither in the past nor am I free in the future. My freedom is in the now. It is in the present. And no one can ever take away my freedom. Neither can anyone grant me freedom. For freedom is in my very nature. It is a part of me.

I may not have eternity in my hands but the sixty seconds I have, I am free to use them or lose them. I may not possess the wealth of the earth but I know that I have  free access to earth’s greatest treasure that lies in human personality**.

I may not be able to control the events that happen in my life or to me but I have the freedom to choose what I do with them. I may be bruised, battered or broken, maimed, mangled or mutilated, shackled, shocked or shot but this I know that it is possible to find freedom within oneself.

I know that my freedom is founded on the choices I make. I am therefore conscious that at every moment I am free to choose either a course of action or a decision or an emotion or a response. The choice I make is the price I pay for my freedom.

I have learned that none but I chain myself, that none but I free myself. I now understand that true freedom is the light of the soul. It always exists. All I need to do is to remind myself of it unceasingly.

My thoughts are mental magnets.

Every law in the Universe is mathematical in nature. The results are guaranteed, if the application is correct. So with the Law of Attraction.

I realize that my thoughts and feelings* are my greatest tools in applying the Law of Attraction to chisel my destiny and craft my life. The people in my life, I have drawn; the circumstances around me, I have manifested; the place I am currently in, I have attracted; the joy in my life, I have pulled; the success, I have invited.

I understand that I attract according to the intensity of my thoughts and feelings. As such, I think positive thoughts and nurture positive feelings.

And the most positive of all thoughts is the thought of God. I fill my mind with His words: words of hope, words of faith, words of love, words of success. My mind is magnetized with His vibration and all good things come to me.

And the strongest of all feelings is the Joy of God. I saturate myself with His joyous Presence through prayer, meditation, recalling His blessings and through serving His children.

Once I affirm God in my mind and heart, the Law of Attraction fulfills my heart’s every desire. I am contented.

I love everyone and everyone loves me.

I love* myself. I tell myself many times during the day ‘I Love You’. For this is the beginning of all my expressions of love. I love myself by accepting me as I am. This I do in the trust that God in His Infinite Love created me. And as His creation of Love, I am perfectly crafted. I am sculpted by Love Itself and after Its image. So, I am, by nature, love. Anything else is a graft on my being.

I love my family. By family, I mean, everyone in my home called Earth. Why? Because it is the nature of love to expand its reach. Love thrives in giving, in sharing, in caring, in bestowing. And when I give love, an equal amount of joy enters my being, a joy that is beyond all senses.

Above all, I love God. Because God is Love**. He is the Ocean of Love holding my little wave of love. I exist because He is thinking of me. And when I love Love, It energizes me, It enlarges the confines of my heart, It fills my life with meaning and purpose. I become whole.

And the definition of Life dawns on me: Love Is For Everyone.
