I choose happiness.
Happiness gives meaning to life for what is life but the quest for happiness. And I know where to find happiness. I also know that unlike pleasure, happiness is cause-independent.
The source of happiness is in me. It is not a state of mind but it is the nature of my being. I relax and let go things beyond my control. I laugh at myself and at the circumstances I am in. I do my best and smile. I remind myself that I am a warrior not a worrier.
I make others happy by sharing my time or things with them. I fill my heart with love, for happiness flourishes in the garden of love. I live a simple life by which I mean a life of detachment. I know I own nothing in the ultimate sense.
I am grateful that I am allowed to enjoy the many good things I otherwise take for granted: my healthy body, the sound mind, the empathetic soul.
Every time I am happy I know I am lucky. I am blessed.
