Peace

I inhale peace and I exhale cheerfulness.

Peace is life, restlessness is death. I know that life is not made up of years but of moments. And what I fill these moments with, I get back as life.

Today, whenever I have time, nay now, this moment, I close my eyes, feel my breath and see it flow in and out at its own pace. With each breath, I inhale peace and I exhale cheerfulness*. I am one with peace.

Peace is my greatest treasure and I make time everyday to gather the honey of peace from the honeycomb of meditation. With peace in my thoughts and peace in my heart, I connect to the Universe and discover the source of strength, wisdom and love inside me. I experience the miracle of the moment: Peace.

Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment – Thich Nhat Hang

As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness. – Dalai Lama quotes (Head of the Dge-lugs-pa order of Tibetan Buddhists, 1989 Nobel Peace Prize)

  1. NARASIMHAM G.A. Says:

Peace is a self attainment for every one. It must be a part of life. It is up to oneself to what extent one thinks and leads a peaceful life. Peace changes the thought process of an individual in his life. One can change the society with the help of peace if he practices and leads others to practice peace by good thoughts.

      Dear Narasimham garu,

Thank you for your insight on Peace. What you said is the greatest truth that we all have to discover for ourselves: “It is up to oneself to what extent one thinks and lead a peaceful life.” We alone are responsible for ourselves. No one else is.

Thank you for your thoughts on Peace

  2. G.Brahmaji Says:

Real meaning of Peace can be experienced when you encounter the unexpected situations and still be cool and calm. It is said that the highest sadhana of every one is ” Bear insult, Bear injury” as per paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswathi. This is your acid test to test your peace.

  3. Sridhar Deshpande Says:

Pace and Peace two important words in this competitive world.
“E” is the extra letter in Peace. Here “E” stands for “Educate your self” i.e. knowing self (Inward Looking) alone gives us “Peace”. “Peace” is internal not external.

      Dear Deshpande ji,

I have always appreciated your knack for alliterations and acronyms.

The words PACE and P(E)ACE are brilliantly explained. In the final analysis the sum and substance of our existence is as you rightly said, Know Thyself.

I am thankful for your sharing of PACE and P(E)ACE.

Please keep sharing your thoughts. The world will surely be a better place.

      Regards
      Venkata Vinay
